Event Overview
Organised by PUB (Singapore’s National Water Agency), the Singapore International Water Week (SIWW) serves as one of the world’s premier platforms to share and co-create water, coastal, and flood solutions on a global scale. Convened by the Smart Cities Network and NAIHE (Newcastle Australia Institute of Higher Education, the Singapore campus of the University of Newcastle, Australia), this particular roundtable brought together researchers, solution providers, and government representatives from Japan and across the ASEAN region.
During the presentation, Demoto introduced the flood-forecasting pilots that Aqunia is currently running across ASEAN and beyond. These initiatives build on the research achievements of “Today’s Earth”—the global water-cycle forecasting system developed by JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) and the University of Newcastle/University of Tokyo (Prof. Kei Yoshimura’s lab).
Moving forward, Aqunia Inc. will continue to drive innovation in hydro-meteorological technologies, strengthening international public-private partnerships to safeguard lives and foster a sustainable, climate-resilient future.
