Aqunia Inc. has been selected as a recipient of the “Support Program for Entry into the Aerospace Industry, Subsidy for Space-Related Products Development Expenses” (\u822a\u7a7a\u5b87\u5b99\u7523\u696d\u3078\u306e\u53c2\u5165\u652f\u63f4\u4e8b\u696d\u3000\u5b87\u5b99\u88fd\u54c1\u7b49\u958b\u767a\u7d4c\u8cbb\u52a9\u6210) under the Solution Development category, a grant program jointly administered by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Tokyo Metropolitan Small and Medium Enterprise Support Center (\u516c\u76ca\u8ca1\u56e3\u6cd5\u4eba\u6771\u4eac\u90fd\u4e2d\u5c0f\u4f01\u696d\u632f\u8208\u516c\u793e) in February 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adopted Theme: Development of a Global Flood Prediction System Integrating Satellite Data<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The program supports small and medium-sized enterprises seeking to capture business opportunities in the growing space industry. In this round, eight projects were selected across both hardware and solution development categories. Aqunia is one of three companies selected under the Solution Development category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flood prediction system under development integrates multiple satellite data sources to forecast river flooding and flood risk at a global scale. The system targets government agencies and infrastructure operators across the Global South \u2014 particularly in Asia and Africa \u2014 where the impacts of climate change are intensifying flood risk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
