Aqunia Inc. has been selected as a recipient of the “Support Program for Entry into the Aerospace Industry, Subsidy for Space-Related Products Development Expenses” (航空宇宙産業への参入支援事業 宇宙製品等開発経費助成) under the Solution Development category, a grant program jointly administered by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Tokyo Metropolitan Small and Medium Enterprise Support Center (公益財団法人東京都中小企業振興公社) in February 2026.
Adopted Theme: Development of a Global Flood Prediction System Integrating Satellite Data
The program supports small and medium-sized enterprises seeking to capture business opportunities in the growing space industry. In this round, eight projects were selected across both hardware and solution development categories. Aqunia is one of three companies selected under the Solution Development category.
The flood prediction system under development integrates multiple satellite data sources to forecast river flooding and flood risk at a global scale. The system targets government agencies and infrastructure operators across the Global South — particularly in Asia and Africa — where the impacts of climate change are intensifying flood risk.
