Modeling Engineer — Hydrology & Climate Modeling

About Aqunia

Aqunia Inc. is a climate tech startup founded in 2025. Our mission is to deliver flood forecasting and water resource prediction systems to governments and communities worldwide by combining advanced hydrological simulation technologies , AI, and observation data. We are particularly focused on expanding into countries in the Global South.

Our CEO, Satoru Demoto, obtained the meteorologist certification at the age of 14 and later conducted climate change research at the Atmosphere and Ocean Research Institute, University of Tokyo. He has more than a decade of experience in strategy consulting, AI startup management, and co-founding of a climate tech start-up.

As of early 2026, our team consists of 12 members. We are actively developing our product and advancing diverse projects with support from organizations such as Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, private foundations, and development agencies.
