Aqunia Co., Ltd. participated in the “Workshop on Digital and Emerging Technologies for Disaster Risk Reduction,” hosted by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) at the JICA Tokyo Center from October 1 to 2, 2026. During the workshop, Aqunia CEO Satoru Demoto delivered a presentation and presented a poster exhibition.
Overview of Presentation & Poster Exhibition
The workshop was convened to strengthen international collaboration and promote the application of digital and emerging technologies in disaster risk reduction and mitigation. Aqunia presented a talk titled “From Global Simulation to Local Impact,” showcasing its proprietary solution that combines AI, satellite data, and physical simulation to localize global flood forecasts with high precision tailored to the regional characteristics of each country. The presentation generated strong interest among representatives from overseas government agencies and international organizations, leading to highly constructive discussions regarding practical application and regional implementation.
In the poster exhibition area, Aqunia displayed its work alongside Sendai City and Spectee Inc.
