Participated in JICA’s Technical Demonstration on the Theme of the National Water Resources Master Plan

Aqunia Inc. (Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan; Representative Director: Satoru Demoto) participated as a technical partner, under subcontract from ME-Lab Japan, Inc., in the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) “Technical Demonstration of Digital and Space Technologies on the Theme of National Water Resources Master Planning” (Country: Zambia), and completed the demonstration in January 2026.

The demonstration explored the use of satellite observation data and hydrological simulation technologies to estimate rainfall and river discharge in basins with limited ground observation. Through discussions with local government agencies, the project also examined how these technologies can support more advanced water resources management.

Aqunia will continue working with partners both in Japan and abroad to advance the real-world deployment of technology for water resources and climate risk challenges across the Global South and beyond.
